The Oklahoma Wesleyan University athletic department is pleased to announced that Jason Jeschke has accepted the offer to fill the vacant women’s head basketball coaching position.

Jeschke, who spent five years as a full time assistant coach at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., fills the vacant slot left by Mark Molder, who has shifted over to lead the men’s program after Jason Beschta accepted the offer to become the new head men’s basketball coach at John Brown University.

During his time working with the Lady Builders, Jeschke has played his part in coaching four All-Americans, 19 KCAC All-Conference selections and 11 KCAC Scholar-Athletes. Jeschke also helped Southwestern College build a combined record of 120-39 and he’s looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life.

Jeschke believes taking over at OKWU and coaching the Lady Eagles, is the ideal place to get his head coaching career underway.

“I believe this is the best job for me. This is without a doubt one of the best programs in the country” Jeschke said at his press conference.

“Oklahoma Wesleyan is certainly the best place for me to start my head coaching career and I am so much looking forward to working here.

“We have an unbelievable talented group of young ladies and I can’t wait to start working with them,” he added.

Jeschke, who is originally from McKinney, TX, also outlined the way he wants his team to play.

“Our team will play fast and hard on the court as well as excel in the classrooms.”

Jeschke, who admits to be a family man, enjoys playing golf, tennis and reading, is married to Courtney.

Ashley Jones, who has been a fantastic assistant coach to Molder during his time, will remain to assist Jeschke, who admits her help during this short period so far has been remarkable.
