Oakland University adds Tim Webb to Women’s Basketball Staff

Oakland University and Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Jeff Tungate, announced the hiring of Tim Webb as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach for the upcoming season.

“I had the privilege of coaching Tim at Rochester University twenty-five years ago. Not only was Tim an outstanding player, he’s an outstanding coach and even better person,” said Tungate, “Tim excels in player development and is well connected in the basketball community. I am very excited to welcome Tim to Oakland University.

Webb comes from Madonna University where he spent the last season with the Crusaders as an Academic Advisor and Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Prior to Madonna, Webb had served as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach with Horizon League rival Detroit Mercy as a recruiting coordinator, scouting coordinator, and a slew of other duties with the Titans.

“I’m honored and humbled to be working with Coach Tungate and the rest of the staff. I’m excited to be a part of the Golden Grizzly family. I’ve known Coach Tungate for over twenty years so it’s like coming home,” said Webb, “This is an amazing opportunity to continue to build this program to help Coach continue to build this program.”

Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Webb had been in the high school and community college ranks ranging from Detroit Country Day to Oakland Community College. Webb’s resume speaks for itself in a 5A state Championship, a decade of experience as a high school athletic director, as well as time spent in NBA, WNBA, and MLB organizations.

Webb played for Rochester University and finished his career with the Warriors as an All-American Point Guard.

Webb received his Master’s in Sport Management from Central Michigan and his Bachelor’s of Science from Rochester University.
