Nyack College is pleased to announce the appointment of Rashidi Aikens as the new coach of the women’s basketball program.

 

Rashidi Aikens brings strong experience at the NCAA Division II level. Aikens was formerly the assistant women’s basketball coach at Nyack College from 2002 through 2012 and served in the same role with LIU Post University in Brookville, NY the past two seasons. He served as the head coach for the Mercy College women’s basketball team for four seasons from 2012 to 2016.

 

“We are extremely pleased to bring Rashidi back to Nyack College because of his commitment to seeing students have a transformational experience athletically, academically and spiritually,” states Director of Athletics Keith Davie. “His strengths in recruitment, player preparation and conditioning and his passion for the game of basketball make him a perfect fit for our program at this time.  Coach Aikens believes that being successful is the end product achieved by doing right things on a daily basis.  We are excited to see the direction that Coach Aikens will take the women’s basketball program.”

The Nyack College women’s basketball position is a part-time position. Aikens will also continue to teach locally as a substitute teacher.
