Northwestern State co-head coaches Brooke and Scott Stoehr announced the addition of Learie Sandy from Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) as an assistant coach.

Sandy’s hiring is subject to the approval of the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System, which includes Northwestern.

Sandy spent six seasons as the lead assistant for the Martin Methodist women’s basketball program, and worked under four different head coaches. At MMC, he handled all aspects of recruiting, coached forwards and post players, scouted and prepared reports for opposing teams, monitored academic progress and organized community service activities.
