Head women’s basketball coach added nearly two decades of formidable bench experience with the hiring of Sean LeBeauf as associate head coach. The well-rounded mentor brings experience as a coach in both the women’s and men’s game, including four years of head coach experience at the college level.
“Sean is a great addition to our Bear family. He has Power 5 experience and an understanding of what it takes to be successful coach and teacher at the Division 1 level,” said head women’s basketball coach Jenny Huth. “I’ve coached against Sean and could see the impact he made; I’ve coached with Sean and know his on-court abilities are superb. Above being superb coach, he is a great person who will help our young women reach their full potential on and off the court.”
LeBeauf will serve as the Bears’ offensive coordinator while leading guard development, scouting and the program’s recruiting. Well-known in the recruiting circle, he will head UNC’s identification, evaluation and signing of future Bears.
“I am honored, humbled and extremely grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow under Coach Huth. I chose UNC because I truly believe that under Coach Huth’s leadership and the culture of servanthood she is creating, I will grow to be the best version of myself,” said LeBeauf. “The result of our efforts will be success for our program in the classroom, on the court and in the community. I cannot wait to get to work with the staff and my new Bears family.”
