NOC Enid hires Dominguez as Women’s Basketball Head Coach

Northern Oklahoma College has selected Michael Dominguez to lead the NOC Enid Lady Jets basketball program.

Dominguez comes to NOC after three years as head at coach at the University of the Southwest, an NAIA private school in Hobbs, New Mexico.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to be announced as the new Head Coach of Northern Oklahoma College Enid,” Dominguez said.  “First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to (NOC Athletic Director) Alan Foster for entrusting me with this tremendous responsibility. It is truly a privilege to join such a distinguished institution known for its strong commitment to academic excellence and athletic achievement.”

“From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I felt at home and valued,” he added.  “The opportunity to lead the women’s basketball program is not just a career milestone for me, but a chance to contribute to the proud legacy of NOC Enid.”

“As we look ahead to the upcoming season and beyond, I envision a program that embodies the values of integrity, perseverance, and teamwork.,” he said.  “Together, we will strive for excellence in every aspect of our athletic endeavors. My goal is not only to develop skilled athletes but also to nurture individuals of character who will represent NOC-Enid with pride on and off the field.  Thank you once again for this incredible opportunity. NOC Athletic Director Alan Foster is excited for Dominguez and the Lady Jet program.

“I am pleased to welcome Michael and his family to the NOC Jet family,” Foster said.   “I am super excited about the leadership he will provide our women’s basketball program.  Being able to hire someone with his experience as a college coach was a win for Jets Athletics.  I am confident in his vision and leadership abilities.”

At the University of the Southwest, Dominguez led the program to the most wins all time, most conference wins all time, most playoff wins, and most playoff appearances.  His teams broke 26 records, he also coached eight all-conference players.

His teams also excelled in the classroom with team GPA’s of 3.67 (2021-22), 3.45 (2022-23), and 3.72 (2023-24).  He coached 25 players who earned All-Conference Academic Honors.

Dominquez earned two degrees, Science and Sports Psychology) from Grand Canyon University. 

His previous coaching experience includes Alderson Broaddus University (NCAA Division 2) in West Virginia, Southern Arkansas University (NCAA Division 2) in Arkansas, South Mountain Community College (NJCAA Division 2) in Arizona, Ironwood High School (Arizona), and a Senior Scout for Prep Girls Hoops.

He replaces Kelli Jennings who coached the Lady Jets the past four seasons.
