NCCU staff update

New North Carolina Central University women’s basketball head coach Vanessa Taylor has announced the hiring of two members of her coaching staff – associate head coach Ronnie Enoch and assistant coach Ed Geth.

A native of Burlington, N.C., Enoch spent the previous eight seasons on the bench with Taylor as an assistant coach at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C.

Prior to coaching at JCSU, Enoch was an assistant men’s basketball coach at West Charlotte High School (2000-02) and an associate men’s head basketball coach at Parkland High School (1996-2000). Parkland won the state championship in 1999 under Enoch’s tutelage.

Geth joins NCCU with eight years of Division I coaching experience and a national championship as a player at the University of North Carolina to his credit.

He spent the 2011-12 campaign as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Marshall University, specializing in the development of post players. Prior to Marshall, Geth spent seven seasons as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Wofford College.

Geth coached boys’ and girls’ basketball at Southern Durham High School from 2000-04, serving as girls’ associate head coach and boys’ assistant coach. During his time at Southern, he coached countless Division I and NBA athletes and helped guide the girls’ team to the state championship title game in 2004. Geth also spent the 1999-2000 campaign as a girls’ basketball assistant coach at Hillside High School in Durham, N.C.

He served as assistant coach with the Maryland Nighthawks of the American Basketball Association under head coach James "Twiggy" Sanders.
