Mt. St. Vincent staff update

College of Mount Saint Vincent Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kevin Clifford has announced his coaching staff for the upcoming 2012-13 campaign. The first year head coach welcomes Jeffrey Attard, Christine Harnischfeger and Ashley Allen to the program starting this season. All three staff members will assist with skill development and the day-to-day operation of the program.

Attard joins the women’s basketball staff after serving as an assistant at the City College of New York for two seasons, starting in 2009. In his role with the Beavers, Attard assisted in recruiting as well as with practice and game plans. In addition, he handled scouting, film exchange and fundraising at CCNY.

Attard also has coaching experience at the AAU level with the Liberty Belles and the New York City Lady Bulldogs and has also organized summer leagues featuring up to 60 different teams.

Harnischfeger comes to Riverdale after a standout career at Queens College. During her playing career she was named captain for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 campaigns and went on to earn All-ECC recognition following the 2009-10 season.

Upon graduation with a degree in Sociology, Harnischfeger went on to become an assistant coach at the Mary Louis Academy for the 2011-12 season. In that capacity she worked with the guards and focused on speed and agility as well as conditioning.

Allen is a 2012 graduate of Brooklyn College where she was a three sport athlete; running cross country in the fall, playing basketball in the winter and competing with the softball team in the spring. She will also assist Clifford with the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country squads starting in the fall.

Allen is a proven leader after being named a Captain of the softball team and serving as a member of Brooklyn’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C). She graduated from Brooklyn with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Adaptive Physical Education.
