Millsaps College has announced the appointment of Justin LeBlanc as its new athletic director. LeBlanc, who most recently served as associate athletic director and head women’s basketball coach at Millsaps, assumed his new role on January 1, 2025.
“Justin embodies the values and spirit of Millsaps,” said Frank Neville, president of Millsaps College. “His demonstrated success as both a coach and administrator, combined with his deep connection to our institution as an alumnus, makes him the ideal candidate to lead our athletic department into its next chapter.”
LeBlanc’s promotion comes on the heels of a historic 2023-2024 season, during which he led the Majors women’s basketball team to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1996 and set a program record for wins in a single season. Additionally, he became the winningest coach in Millsaps women’s basketball history when he secured his 130th victory on November 30, 2024. His exceptional leadership has been recognized with three Southern Athletic Association Coach of the Year awards since joining Millsaps as head coach in 2016.
“Millsaps athletics has been a huge part of my life for nearly two decades. From my time as a student-athlete to coaching and administration, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of our athletic department and its programs,” LeBlanc said. “In this role, I look forward to helping our student-athletes and coaches achieve new heights on the field and in the classroom. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to President Neville for his confidence in me and the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I’m eager to collaborate with him and the Millsaps community to continue our tradition of excellence. Go Majors!”
A 2006 graduate of Millsaps, LeBlanc’s journey with the school spans nearly two decades. After earning his degree in business administration with a minor in French, he began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team. He later gained valuable experience at Centenary College, where he successfully led the women’s basketball program to its first postseason appearance in 20 years.
He completed his master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011.
In addition to his coaching duties, LeBlanc has played an integral role in athletic administration as associate athletic director, demonstrating his ability to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining excellence in both areas. His unique perspective as a former student-athlete, assistant coach, head coach and administrator gives him a comprehensive understanding of collegiate athletics at all levels.
