Mickens Added to Bridgewater College Women’s Basketball Staff

Bridgewater College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jason Asbell has announced the hiring of Angela Mickens to his staff.

Mickens was a four-year letter winner at nearby James Madison University. She finished her illustrious playing career ranking second all-time in JMU history with 669 assists and eighth all-time in JMU history with 89 career steals. She played in 113 consecutive games for the Dukes on her way to All-CAA first team honors and a spot on the Final 15 Watch List for the Nancy Lieberman Award, given to the nation’s top guard in Division I women’s basketball.

Mickens has recently worked at the Virginia Institute of Autism working one-on-one with students implementing academic and behavioral tools. 

She graduated from JMU in 2016 with a degree in health science and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Liberty University.
