Lauren McRoberts has been named the assistant coach of the St. Lawrence University women’s basketball team for the 2017-18 season.
A former student-athlete at the University of South Carolina Upstate, McRoberts was a three-year captain for the Spartans. She was named the Atlantic Sun Conference’s Player of the Week twice.
“Lauren is going to fit in well with our team,” said head coach Dan Roiger. “She recently worked our summer camp, taught with high energy and was willing to speak out. She has high demands of the players and is willing to work with them to help them grow their skills and confidence. I’m really excited to add her to the team. I think she is exactly what our program needs.”
The Carmel, Indiana native, graduated USC Upstate with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in psychology and criminal justice. She also holds a minor in education.
Prior to joining the Saints coaching staff McRoberts served as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. The Grizzlies recorded two third-place finishes in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, including a 14-4 mark during the 2015-16 season. Franklin made an appearance in the conference semifinals following a first-round victory against Defiance College.
