LeTourneau women’s basketball head coach Scot MacAllister announced he is stepping down from the position.
MacAllister was the seventh head coach in program history and spent four seasons at the helm of the YellowJackets.
“I hired Scot on my first day as AD at LeTourneau and have consistently enjoyed his fun presence in our department, love for the Lord, and his work on the court,” said Vice President for Athletics Dr. Tim Sceggel. “He inherited a team with low numbers and developed it into a culture of young women who love Jesus, and love LeTourneau. To that end, I’m thankful for what he has been able to accomplish, and wish him and Lori the best as they enter into a new chapter.”
“My wife, Lori, and I are so grateful to President [Dr. Steve] Mason and Dr. Tim Sceggel for allowing us to be a part of, and serve the LeTourneau community,” said MacAllister. “When we arrived, four years ago, I told Lori that I wanted to work here because these people love kids and love Jesus. What I have found is that statement grows truer every day, with one caveat, that love is also showered on everyone who works here and their families. We have been so blessed by our time here. Thank you, LeTourneau community, the players and parents, and our incredible church family of New Beginnings.”
MacAllister guided the team to its first conference tournament semifinal appearance in nine years when the YellowJackets advanced in the 2025 ASC Tournament. During his tenure, he had five players earn all-conference honors – with the All-SCAC teams yet to be announced for 2025-26. Additionally, he coached two players to ASC All-Defensive team honors, had one ASC All-Freshman selection, and two conference players of the week.
The program had its first five College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees under MacAllister and earned the first WBCA Team Academic Honor Roll selection in 2023-24. He had 27 conference all-academic selections – with the SCAC honorees to be announced soon for 2025-26.
His 2023-24 team set a program record for free throw percentage (72.0) and senior Kylie Weeks set a single-season free throw percentage record in 2025-26 at 88.0 percent.
A national search is underway for the position of LeTourneau Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
