Lynell McCrary Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Great Lakes Christian College

Great Lakes Christian College and the Great Lakes Christian College Athletic Department is pleased to announce Lynell McCrary as the next Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the Lady Crusader program. Coach McCrary and her family come to GLCC family from Bradford Preparatory Academy in North Carolina. McCrary and her family intend on moving to the Lansing area in the coming weeks.

McCrary takes over for Lacia Gorman who departed late this summer for other career opportunities. Coach McCrary brings a competitive spirit and proven track record in impacting lives and building programs. Great Lakes Christian College will be McCrary’s first college head coaching job, but it is something she is excited about. McCrary said, “I am very excited to be joining the Crusader family at Great Lakes Christian College. I believe God has opened this door for me to bring my experience and competitive spirit to build the women’s basketball team. I look forward to this opportunity with great anticipation and all that we will accomplish this year and years to come.”

McCrary takes over a program that is looking to build off a 3-27 campaign in 17-18. Coach McCrary is eager to bring in a versatile and exciting style of play that will bring an identity to the Lady Crusader basketball program. Prior to Great Lakes Christian College McCrary has served as Health and Physical Education teacher at three different charter schools in North Carolina and one middle school in California. She also had a stint as an assistant coach for one season at Citrus Community College in California. McCary got her undergraduate degree in Physical Education from Biola University where she competed as a scholarship athlete in Basketball, Cross Country and Track and Field. She completed her Masters in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific in Physical Education as well.
