LSSU Women’s Basketball names Erickson as Assistant Coach / Head JV Coach

The Lake Superior State University women’s basketball program has named Leonard Erickson as the newest Assistant Coach / Head JV Coach, as announced by Head Coach Brandon Lokken on Monday.

“I would like to start off by thanking Brandon Lokken, Allison Todd, Dr. Dave Diles, and the LSSU athletic staff for giving me the opportunity to join such an amazing place,” said Erickson. “I am excited to get on campus and into the community and contribute to the LSSU women’s basketball program. This is a special place and am ready to make some amazing things happen.”

Erickson brings with him six years of head coaching experience at both Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, Wis. and Little Priest Tribal College in Winnebago, Neb. where he helped establish the program at LPTC as a viable NJCAA member.

“I would also like to thank my family, friends, and coaching colleagues who I have worked with and for who are too many for me to list,” said Erickson. “No one person is an island onto themselves, and I would not be here without their support, love, and guidance.”

He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s degree in history, and he also received a master’s degree in physical education from Indiana State University.
