Logic named Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Marquette

Marquette University women’s basketball head coach Cara Consuegra announced Sam Logic as an assistant coach for the program.

“We are excited to have Sam join our staff,” Consuegra said. “Sam is someone I’ve known and respected for a long time. She is a high character individual who aligns with our program’s core values. Her outstanding college experience and years of playing professionally will bring a unique perspective to our players and impact our program right away.”

Logic played at Iowa from 2011-15 and became the second Hawkeye to be drafted in the first round of the WNBA draft in 2015. She was selected 10th overall by the Atlanta Dream and traded to the San Antonio Stars. Logic played one season in the WNBA before playing professionally for 10 years in France, Australia, Austria, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Luxemburg, and Romania.

“I am very excited to be back home and join the Marquette women’s basketball family,” Logic said. “I believe in Cara and her vision for her program and I cannot wait to get to campus and help build on the success of this team.”

Upon graduation, Logic was the only player in NCAA history to have at least 1,500 career points, 800 rebounds, 800 assists and 200 steals. She was one of 10 players to be named to the WBCA Division I Coaches All-America Team and was an ESPN Second Team All America honoree her senior season.

From Racine, Wisconsin, Logic was a standout at Case High School. Logic was a McDonald’s All-American, Associated Press and Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Wisconsin, and Miss Wisconsin Basketball her senior year at Case.
