Lincoln U. hires assistant

Kiel Unruh, a former assistant on Emporia State’s 2010 national championship team with NCAA Division I coaching experience, has joined Lincoln University as the assistant women’s basketball coach.

A former student (2007-09) and graduate (2009-10) assistant coach at Emporia State, Unruh helped coach the Lady Hornets to the 2010 national championship. In addition to serving as the team’s video and travel coordinator, Unruh assisted with ESU’s recruiting and worked as the position coach for the guards.

Following his time at Emporia State, Unruh joined the coaching staff at Stephen F. Austin, a Division I program in the Southland Conference. While at Stephen F. Austin, Unruh again was the video coordinator, handling the editing and breakdown of the Ladyjacks’ opponent and practice film. Unruh also coached the guards at SFA, helping the Ladyjacks reach the finals of the 2012 Southland Conference tournament and ultimately a postseason bid in the Women’s Basketball Invitational tournament.
