Lassiter Named WBB DBO at C of C

College of Charleston women’s basketball head coach Robin Harmony announced on Monday the hiring of added Nay Lassiter as the Director of Basketball Operations.

Lassiter formerly worked at Northeastern University where she served as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team. During her time with the Huskies, the team posted a 19-12 record and advanced to the semifinals of the CAA tournament.

Before Northeastern, Lassiter served as head coach at Randolph High School in Randolph, Massachusetts.

“I am excited to be a Cougar and to work closely with such great people in the athletic department here at the College of Charleston,” Lassiter said. “My role here is simple and that is to be a positive leader on and off the court our young women while enhancing their game and helping them become the best version of themselves.”

She began her coaching career with the Boston Showstoppers in 2019 and spent two years with the program. She assisted in developing young athletes in their recruitment journey, designed practice plans, and worked closely with guards on ball handling.

Lassiter graduated from Southern Connecticut University with a degree in sociology where she was a starter on the women’s basketball team. Before Southern Connecticut, she attended the University of Rhode Island, where she was also served as a starter from 2016-2019 and was voted by her head coach as the team’s “community engagement player.”
