D’Youville Athletics has announced that Payce Lange has been named the interim head coach for the D’Youville women’s basketball program for the 2021-22 season.
“We are excited about Payce leading our program this year as the interim head coach, and we are eager to see her lead this group of student-athletes,” said director of athletics Ona Halladay. “Payce has the full support of the administration, and we are eager to see her and the women’s basketball team in action this year.”
Lange said, “In being named the interim head coach of D’Youville women’s basketball, I am excited to lead this team of confident women to a successful 2021- 2022 season by continuing to build each student-athlete’s skillset and, in turn, cultivating those skills to benefit the team. I am very fortunate to be guiding a great group as we get prepared for the upcoming campaign.”
“I want to thank Ona and the athletic administration staff for providing me with this opportunity and believing in me as a leader for the program,” continued Lange.
Lange served as a coaching staff member last season as the Saints started a three-year transition process in becoming a full Division II member. This year the Saints will play a full East Coast Conference schedule and look to build on the program’s first win over Division II opposition and first ECC victory last season.
Payce’s staff for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.
