Knight elevated to Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Beloit

Larry Knight has been elevated from his post as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach following the departure of Natalie Miller at the end of the last academic year. Beloit College Director of Athletics Dave DeGeorge announced the decision late last week.

“We are extremely pleased to have Larry Knight leading our women’s basketball program”, expressed DeGeorge. “Larry did a fantastic job last season as an assistant coach for Natalie Miller. He had a big impact on recruiting and built terrific relationships with our returning players. He is energetic, smart and has high expectations.”

After spending last season on the bench behind Miller, Knight takes the reins on a Buccaneer team that won 11 games, their most since the 2008-09 season. Knight handled practice plans, film breakdown and individual workouts with players.

“I am honored to be the new head women’s basketball coach here at Beloit,” Said Knight. “The community has welcomed me with open arms since I first stepped foot on campus last year. I am excited to work with such a phenomenal team and be a part of the first-class sports program here at Beloit College.”

Prior to Beloit, Knight was the head JV Basketball coach at Friends School of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. Aside from his JV coaching duties, he also assisted the Varsity coach.

He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education from Western Governors University in Utah.
