Georgetown University Head Women’s Basketball Coach Keith Brown made his first hire on Tuesday promoting Kenya Kirkland to assistant coach. Kirkland played for Georgetown from 2006-10 and most recently served as the assistant operations manager while working on her master’s in social and public policy. Kirkland will work primarily with the guards and on the defense as well spending time recruiting.
Kirkland joined the staff in 2010 after a four-year career on the Hilltop where she was a team captain as a senior and appeared in 109 games with 17 starts to her credit.
In her role as assistant operations manager, she assisted all four coaches in the office and in practice, working primarily on defensive schemes.
