Head Coach Danielle O’Banion has announced the hiring of Keith Gwynn as assistant coach for the Kent State’s women’s basketball program.
“We are excited to add someone with Keith’s commitment to and passion for women’s basketball to our staff,” said O’Banion. “He is a proven coach and motivator who brings a strong skill development resume to Kent State. Our program will benefit from his teaching ability and broad grassroots ties.”
Gwynn brings extensive coaching experience to Kent State, most recently as a professional skills coach in Philadelphia and Cincinnati as a player development coach for Cincinnati Finest AAU team and an evaluator for Ohio Girls’ Basketball Report.
Gwynn has coached at various high schools around the region, including Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, Norwood High School in Ohio, Norristown High School in Pennsylvania and Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia. He has also held the roles of the general manager and head coach for the Philadelphia NCAA Women’s Basketball Summer League for five years, founder and president of the Mid-Atlantic Elite and assistant coach for Fencor AAU. Gwynn began his coaching career as a student assistant coach at St. Joseph’s University.
A graduate of Northern Kentucky University, Gwynn recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in business administration. He also earned an Associates’ Degree in business administration from the Community College of Philadelphia.
