Kansas Dirt…

The search to replace Bonnie Henrickson at Kansas is in full swing. It seems like Kansas is looking for a current head coach, and one who has had success. Of the four coaches I’ve heard, all won at least 27 games this past season. The names that I’ve heard are:

• Jody Adams – Head Coach Wichita State. Just wrapped up her seventh season with the shockers. Her squad went 29-5 and won the Missouri Valley Championship. The former player at Tennessee has also been the head coach at Murray State.

• Joe Foley – Head Coach Arkansas Little Rock. Has been at UALR since 2003. Also spent sixteen years as the head coach at Arkansas Tech. Won his 700th career game this past season. Also led his team to a 29-5 record.

• Jose Fernandez – Head Coach South Florida. Led the Bulls to a 27-8 record this past season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Has been at USF for the past fifteen seasons

• Vic Shaefer – Head Coach Mississippi State. Was the long-time associate head coach at Texas A&M before taking the reigns at Mississippi State in 2012. His Bulldogs went 27-7 this past season. Also spent seven seasons as the head coach at Sam Houston State.
