Highland CC (KS) women’s basketball coach BJ Smith was back on the sidelines last night for the first time since his recent suspension. Smith had been on administrative leave all month while the school conducted an investigation into an undisclosed matter.

Last night’s 63-55 win over #4 Johnson County CC moved #6 Highland to 15-0 on the season. The Scotties have now been nationally ranked in 110 straight NJCAA DII polls.

During Smith’s absence, men’s assistant Jon Oler coached the team for one game (a 118-41 win over Ellsworth CC), while two other games were canceled, and one was postponed.
