Under the guidance of the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations, throughout the course of this internship, the Operations Intern will learn to apply professional concepts that are necessary to the development, planning, organization and administration of the Cal Women’s Basketball program.

Responsibilities:

• Learn about and help with the planning of team travel and the preparation for home game events.
• Work with Video Coordinator to facilitate the film exchange process and all other aspects of video operations.
• Help manage equipment inventory and supplies for the team.
• Learn about the intercollegiate athlete recruitment process, help with the maintenance and organization of the recruiting and compliance databases, and take part in on-campus recruiting activities.
• Research and coordinate community service activities for Women’s Basketball student-athletes.
• Take part in athletic administrative areas such as marketing, sports information, game operations, ticketing, etc.
• Learn about donor relations, maintain an alumni database, and be involved in alumni relations.
• Assist coaching staff with preparation for practice and games.

• Bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent training/experience.
• Problem-solving skills and effective listening skills.
• Ability to multi-task and to work with frequent interruptions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills .
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of the sport of basketball.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
