Description:

The Athletics Department at Towson University is accepting applications for a Women’s Basketball Operations Assistant to assist the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations, and assist with the complex clerical management and operations of the video support area, including video capture and editing.  The Assistant will serve as a a communication point for women’s basketball coaches; assist in the creation of team end of the year videos and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach. 


Description

 Video practice sessions and games; use video editing and production software to edit practice sessions, games and video of opponent during the basketball season; assist in organizing practice facilities and set up; identify and resolve issues, or recommends new or revised options; and provide guidance, instruction, and management of student managers.


 

Qualifications

 High school diploma and two years of clerical experience, preferably including graphic arts, photoshop, and social media.  The selected candidate must have working knowledge of Women’s basketball and basketball operations and office practices; skill in operating manual and automatic equipment to prepare videos for coach/team review; the ability to independently perform specialized clerical tasks; to apply departmental policies and procedures; to communicate effectively; and to maintain effective work relations with Athletics staff, students, and recruits. Experience supporting basketball operations or other sport at a collegiate level is preferred. Experience as student-athlete or student team manager a plus. Video scouting system experience also a plus. A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree is also strongly preferred.

 

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
