Dordt College is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position for the Women’s Basketball program. The position is a 2-year commitment with annual review. Benefits include tuition discounts for the Dordt College Master of Education Program, campus housing, an annual stipend for hours worked, and a meal card.

Primary responsibilities as a Women’s Basketball GA include, but are not limited to, assisting with all aspects of recruiting, practice, and game preparation, film breakdown, opponent scouting, working individually and with small groups of players, and other responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Women’s Basketball coaching staff.

A bachelor’s degree and admission into Dordt’s Master of Education program are required.  Past experience coaching and/or playing women’s basketball is desired.

The following requirements must be satisfied to complete an application for a position at Dordt College:

RESUME: Provide a current, detailed resume that includes personal and biographical information, residence and business addresses and telephone numbers, religious background, educational background, professional experience, and other information such as research interests, publications, awards, and samples of scholarly activity.

REFERENCES: Submit the names, titles, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of at least three people familiar with your academic and professional background who can be contacted concerning your qualifications. At least one person should be able to speak about your Christian commitment.

TRANSCRIPTS: Request that all official transcripts of undergraduate and graduate work completed to date be forwarded to the address below.

PERSONAL STATEMENT: Please write a 3-5 page statement outlining (1) your religious convictions, (2) your understanding of Christian higher education, and (3) your approach to coaching and teaching. Throughout your personal statement, please interact with and comment directly upon relationships between your ideas and The Educational Task of Dordt College and The Educational Framework of Dordt College. In particular, be sure to respond to Dordt College’s four curricular coordinates (religious orientation, creational structure, creational development, and contemporary response). Hard copies of the Task and Framework are available upon request.
