The University of Washington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator (Assistant Director of Women’s Basketball Player Development). This individual will have the following responsibilities:
Participate in the recruiting process in conjunction with applicable NCAA and conference rules and guidelines through mailings and on-campus recruit visits, including contacting high schools regarding potential student-athletes’ transcripts and academic eligibility. Provide direction to parents and student-athletes, both potential and current, regarding eligibility requirements.
Develop itineraries for official visits (e.g. which faculty a recruit should meet). Create recruiting profiles and prepare staff with pertinent information needed prior to official and unofficial visits. Organize and maintain all recruiting files.
Coordinate facilities for game and practice sessions. Coordinate practice times for and address the needs of visiting teams. Assist in the coordination of pregame meals and the training table. Inform other department personnel of schedule and event changes.
Act as a liaison between the University and third party travel coordinators when planning foreign tours for the team. Manage meal per diem and prepare student-athletes for foreign travel.
Facilitate outreach through clinics, youth programs, and team community service. Coordinate requests for community and regional involvement such as through speeches, lectures, appearances, and committees. Communicate with alumni and coordinate events.
Complete necessary NCAA monthly paperwork. Take applications and organize schedule for practice players.
Represent women’s basketball at meetings with internal and external constituencies. Utilize independent thought and actions to complete tasks on behalf of the women’s basketball program.
Set-up and operate video and computer equipment for the Intercollegiate Athletics women’s basketball program. Oversee videotaping of practices. Manage video media (tapes, discs, hard drives, etc.). Digitize, edit, and organize video footage using a computerized editing system, DVSPORTS, for video scouting, breakdowns and presentations; responsible for video exchange. Coordinate with Athletics Video Operations personnel for video support of home games and duplications. Acquire and catalog opponent’s game videos from broadcast TV, cable or satellite.
Perform related duties as required.
