The University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Intramural Sports Coordinator and Head Women’s Basketball Coach.The Intramural Sports Coordinator/Head Women’s Basketball Coach will report to the Assistant Director of Athletics & Recreation and shall play a major role in supporting and growing enrollment as well as retention; advance student well-being and academic success; ensure gender equity, diversity, and inclusion in all athletic programs with regard to students, staff, coaches, and administrators in the Department of Athletics & Recreation; must be a University leader on campus and in the community that represents the University and Department of Athletics & Recreation to external constituents in a manner that demonstrates personal and professional integrity and promotes UM-Dearborn’s interests; represent the University in an exemplary fashion to alumni, friends, prospective students, and the general public, as well as play an active role in the community of Southeastern Michigan and Wayne County; collaborate with other departments on campus on various projects, and work to improve relationships between Department of Athletics & Recreation and other departments on campus; manage resources for good stewardship of program; and provide leadership and supervision to various constituents during day, evenings and weekend hours as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Intramural Sports contact person and provide program oversight.

• Direct, organize, supervise and evaluate all intramural programs.

• Schedule all Intramural events.

• Hire, train, and supervise intramural sport supervisors and officials.

• Secure facility times for intramural sports and programs.

• Manage the intramural budget; authorize intramural equipment purchases and repairs.

• Collaborate with the Office for Student Engagement to market intramural sports to student organizations.

• Develop and implement a plan to grow intramural sports and recreation events on campus.

• Perform an annual review of all Intramural programs and rules and modify as necessary.

• Develop and maintain website for online registration of events, leagues, etc.

• Attend intramural games and ensure the sport supervisors and officials are developing in a professional manner and handling conflict appropriately.

• Comply with rules, regulations and policies of the NAIA, WHAC, and University of Michigan-Dearborn.

• Oversee the planning, organizing, directing, and implementing of all phases of the Women’s Basketball Program.

• Direct all recruiting efforts in regards to evaluations, official and unofficial visits, and prospective student-athlete progress through the NAIA Eligibility Center.

• Oversee all aspects of game preparation including practice and scouting reports.
