Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp is the Longest Running Basketball Camp in the country. For over 60 years, PIBC camps have helped players of all levels become students of the game. PIBC offers campers a unique blend of traditional camp experiences along with expert basketball instruction from the top high school & college coaches in the country. With a strong list of alumni including NBA/WNBA Stars Sue Bird, and Karl-Anthony Towns, Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp has long been considered the premier basketball development camp in the world.

2024 Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp Internship Description:

Individuals interested in joining the PIBC staff for the 2024 summer will relocate to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania for the duration of their internship. The internship will begin by, at latest, June 1st and run through August 24th, though both dates may be flexible, depending on our needs and your availability. Housing and meals will both be provided throughout the duration of the internship. Working at PIBC has proven to be an effective opportunity for those looking to break into the basketball industry. The hands-on experience gained throughout the internship will provide an invaluable understanding of grassroots basketball and sports management. We are accepting applications for three different intern positions, each detailed below.

Recruiting + Sales:

  • Primarily serve as a Recruiting intern, with the goal of recruiting new customers and participants for camp sessions
  • Various administrative duties
  • Manage incoming correspondence with customers via email and telephone, providing customer service
  • Communicate and work effectively with college and club basketball coaches both for the purpose of recruiting campers and staffing camp with coaches
  • Perform cold calls and update customer database with pertinent information ● Assist in the day to day operations of camp

Operations:

  • You will be responsible for helping to maintain our campgrounds
  • Members of our operations staff may be required to assist our sales team when deemed necessary
  • If assigned a team, you will be tasked with managing a small team of our work exchange interns
  • Assist in the day to day operations of camp

Business Operations:

  • Primarily serve as a Business operations intern, with the goal of maintaining the business end of our camp operation
  • Various administrative duties
  • Daily updates of our financial databases, tracking both expenses and payments ● Manage incoming and outgoing bills, payments, expenses, etc.
  • Communicate and work effectively with Camp Director and camp clients ● Perform analysis and interpretation on camp finances
  • Assist in the day to day operations of camp

Professional Qualifications:

  • Outgoing and personable
  • Good leadership skills
  • Willing to get your hands dirty, quite literally
  • Able to focus and work in fast paced environment
  • Able to anticipate needs and determine priorities
  • Maintain decorum and confidentiality when interacting with clients
  • Knowledge of the basketball industry preferred, but not required
