Maryville University, a NCAA Division II institution, member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and located in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking applicants for Interim Assistant Coach – Women’s Basketball. The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the women’s basketball program. The assistant coach will recruit players each season and ensure that prospective student-athletes are aware of all policies and procedures.

Summary of responsibilities:

• Administration and coaching of the women’s basketball program
• Recruitment of qualified student-athletes and monitoring student-athlete academic progress
• Scheduling contests and practices; organizing travel and game day preparations.
• Video Exchange Coordinator
• Responsible budget organization and management

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Three years of experience coaching basketball at the high school or collegiate level or 3 years of experience playing collegiate basketball.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Thorough understanding of the game and technical aspects in the sport of basketball.
Ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development.
