| Description: | Wesleyan College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Head Women’s Basketball Coach. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for coaching, recruiting and managing an NCAA Division III basketball program at Wesleyan College, the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. Other duties, such as Strength and Conditioning Coach, facilities management, and student relations, may be negotiated. This position is a 12 month, benefits eligible position. Responsibilities & Duties include, but are not limited to: • Plan, organize, and conduct traditional and non-traditional basketball practice sessions. • Identify and recruit potential student-athletes at various local, regional, and national recruiting events. • Maintain and operate within sports-specific, department & college budgets for basketball. • Enforce safety rules and regulations. • Develop and arrange competition schedules and programs, based on NCAA rules and USA South regulations. • Work within the policies of NCAA, USA South Athletic Conference and Wesleyan College. • Coordinate and assist in special projects & committees as needed. • Develop community engagement activities such as camps for grade school and high school aged players. • Serve as gameday operations coordinator for all fall sports. Experience recruiting & coaching at the collegiate level preferred. The position requires demonstrated skills in communication, flexibility, organization, leadership, problem-solving, human relations, and ability to work with diverse populations. Applicants with added experience in athletic administration, strength & conditioning, sports information, and gameday management are highly desired and are encouraged to applied. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position reports to the Athletic Director. |
