SUNY Geneseo’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, in the Division of Student and Campus Life, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

This full-time, 10-month, benefits eligible position will coordinate and oversee all aspects of the women’s intercollegiate basketball program and will be assigned a secondary duty or duties in the department based on the skill set of the selected candidate and departmental needs. The selected candidate is responsible for administering all aspects of a highly successful program with specific duties including but not limited to: effective recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes; individual skill and character development of student-athletes; scheduling; budget preparation and management; participation in department fundraising, community service, and alumni engagement efforts; monitoring academic performance; and related work as required. The Head Coach is also required to adhere to all NCAA, SUNYAC and SUNY Geneseo rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; prior coaching experience at the collegiate level; Must demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as the ability to establish and maintain positive learning environments for students and collaborative relationships with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; minimum of 3-5 years successful coaching experience at the collegiate level; demonstrated ability to recruit and retain student-athletes who are committed to academic and athletic excellence; experience with fundraising and/or alumni relations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills as well as demonstrated success as an assistant or head coach at the collegiate level.
