The Head Coach is responsible for the planning, organization, and administration of the Women’s basketball program as well as recruit for the overall program.

Job Responsibilities:

-Adhere to all NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules
-Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes
-Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the College community
-At all times promote the Women’s basketball program and the College in a positive way

Recruiting (30%)
-Correspond via mailings, phone calls and electronic communications
-Schedule and coordinate recruit visits
-Attend off campus recruiting events
-Work with enrollment colleagues to recruit student athletes

Women’s Basketball Team Management (45%)
-Practice planning, organization, and on-the-court coaching
-Game preparations
-Coordinate game and practice schedule
-Game day duties
-Supervise team during away contests
-Support inventory and care of uniforms and team equipment
-Organize and participate in community service events
-Coordinate duties and supervision of part-time coaches

Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student-athletes (5%)

Game Management & other administrative tasks as assigned by department (20%)
-Game Management responsibilities include coordination of SJFC teams and opposing team game day duties
-Yearly NCAA rules test

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required. Prior coaching experience required. Collegiate playing experience preferred.
