Southern Methodist University seeks a highly motivated individual for the position of head women’s basketball coach.

The head coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a competitive NCAA Division I women’s basketball program that emphasizes integrity and the educational welfare of its student-athletes.

• Coaching effectively in practice and successfully in games;
• Recruiting quality student-athletes;
• Scheduling, displaying effective interpersonal and communication skills, academic success and budget management.

Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred.

Seven years of basketball coaching experience required, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.

The ability to represent the University and to promote the basketball program among its many constituent groups is highly desirable.

Candidates should demonstrate a record of accomplishment in collegiate women’s basketball; a commitment to academic success; and knowledge and compliance with NCAA rules.
