Description:

RSU is seeking applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This position is responsible for the management and administration of all phases of the women’s basketball program. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is expected to adhere to the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of the sport of basketball with a demonstrated ability to teach the sport required
  • College coaching experience or high school head coaching experience required
  • A demonstrated knowledge of the day to day operations of a college basketball program and athletic department
  • A proven record in following directives and being responsible for tasks which have been assigned
Preferred Qualification Summary
  • Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate level
  • Head coaching experience
Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting or standing may be required.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds with or without minimal assistance.

Essential Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Recruit quality student athletes who can excel in both athletics and academics
  • Develop practice and game strategies which will allow the team to be successful
  • Ensure an atmosphere of compliance with all institutional, conference, and national association rules and regulations
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or the President of the University
SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Develop and adhere to an annual budget for the women’s basketball program
  • Participate in public relations activities, speaking engagements, and interviews
  • Support and participate in fundraising initiatives for the Department of Athletics under the direction of the Director of Athletics
  • Develop a competitive schedule and coordinate travel details for road contests
