This position recruits future athletes, coaches current student athletes, schedules games, and ensures proper public relations coverage of related events and represents the College during personal interviews with media representatives. This position will also be expected to adhere to compliance guidelines and training requirements associated with the Campus Security Act (CSA).

What You Will Do

1. Coaches student athletes; monitors their academic loads and helps student athletes navigate the OCC Admissions, Registration and Financial Aid processes.

2. Schedules all practice sessions and oversees team personnel during varsity games; drives College vehicles to away games and is responsible for keeping stats.

3. Records and reports medical injuries to the Athletic Administration.

4. Coordinates and assumes responsibility for the issuance and collection of all equipment and supplies; conducts needs analysis and prepares an annual equipment and supplies report in preparation for the following season.

5. Recruits high school athletes through collaborative relationships with high school contacts.

6. Submits reports regarding statistical data for sporting events.

7. Coordinates media publicity coverage and sporting event releases; provides personal interviews.

8. Maintains department coverage and needs throughout the year (i.e. event coverage, team meetings; attends required college events (i.e. coaches meetings, open houses, etc.).

9. Participates in annual CSA compliance training and adheres to the guidelines of the Campus Security Act when carrying out the duties of this position.

10. Related projects and duties as assigned.

The Successful Candidate Must Have

1. Bachelor’s Degree

2. Two years’ high school or college playing experience.

3. Three years’ coaching experience in an organized league in the sport for ages 15 and up.

4. Valid driver’s license.

5. Possession of First Aid/CPR Certification prior to the start of the season.

Even Better If You Have

1. Master’s Degree

2. Two years’ experience as an active member of a college varsity team.

3. One year of experience coaching at the college level Degree.
