Description: Lenoir-Rhyne University (Hickory, NC) an NCAA Division II member with a rich tradition of athletic excellence, seeks qualified candidates for its head women’s basketball coach vacancy. This position directs the development, strategic leadership, organization, and management of all phases of the women’s basketball program.
Duties and tasks include, but not limited to:
• Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student athletes at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of the women’s basketball staff in the planning, organizing and coaching of the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s basketball team; ensure compliance with the university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.
• Direct the women’s basketball staff in the preparation of analyses of opponent teams; analyze game statistics and technical data of opponents and prepare game plans accordingly.
• Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; consult with University administration and faculty for resolution of problems required.
• Assign geographical areas to and supervise the women’s basketball staff in the recruitment of new players; determine recipients of women’s basketball scholarships in accordance with University admissions policies.
• Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
• Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, merit recommendations, and promotions.
• Study, evaluate, and implement innovations in basketball strategy and equipment.
• Represent the Lenoir-Rhyne University athletic department in professional, civic and alumni events.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein, as assigned by University administration, if mutually agreeable.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:
• Bachelors degree
• Collegiate level coaching experience with a demonstrated understanding of NCAA DII Rules
• Demonstration of collegiate recruiting experience
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop a culture of excellence
• Strong communication skills
