This IUPUI Head Women’s Basketball Coach, NCAA is responsible for the duties normally associated with a Division I head coach including prospect evaluation, recruiting, training, coaching, student-athlete academic achievement, student-athlete conduct and welfare, compliance with the NCAA, conference and institutional rules, budgetary control, scheduling assistance, promotions, public relations, development activities and the overall affective performance of the student-athletes and coaching staff.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, to include counseling team members in academic, disciplinary, sportsmanship, and personal matters, as appropriate.
• Develops a competitively successful team which represents IUPUI positively and responsibly, and which provides student-athletes the opportunity for a positive experience and climate in which to achieve their academic, athletic, and personal goals.
• Represents the team, department, and university in a positive, professional, and ethical manner; appropriately responds to media, marketing, fund-raising, and community service requests, as assigned.
• Exhibits professionalism in a manner, which is consistent with the missions and goals of IUPUI, conference, and the NCAA.
• Performs recruiting duties including, but not limited to, formulating a plan to incorporate coverage of all prospective student-athletes on a national level.
• Recruits high-quality student-athletes that meet or exceed university qualifications.
• Complies fully with all NCAA, conference, and IUPUI rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
• Performs other duties as specified in coach’s employment agreement and as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor’s degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• 5 years of coaching experience.

Preferred

• Coaching experience at the collegiate level, preferably Division 1.
