Description:

Included but not limited to, all aspects of coaching, planning, directing, developing and managing a successful program conditioning, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, travel, equipment, budget management, fundraising, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, Atlantic East Conference and university policies and procedures
  • Meet recruiting goals as established by the Director of Athletics and Recreation
  • Achieve and maintain certification for CPR/AED and First Aid
  • Monitor team fundraising account
  • Attend department staff meetings and university functions
  • Represent university at conference meetings
  • Develop and maintain alumni relations for the promotion of the program
  • Represent the University and its athletics program, with honesty, integrity and sportsmanship at all times, to various institutional programs and students, parents and families, the general public, alumni and external agencies.
  • Work with various departments and personnel at the university to aid in the development of a positive student-athlete experience.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

Coordinator of Marketing and Communications:

This position will assist in the administration of all aspects of Marketing and Communication functions for 21 varsity sports. In this capacity, this individual will seek to generate attendance from various constituencies for all home events and create an exciting atmosphere for specific events. This individual will also play a key role in all aspects of event management operations for the department.

  • Enhance enthusiasm for the IU Athletic Department and increase awareness of all sports programs at the University.
  • Supervision of student employees for the marketing department regarding Athletics.
  • Work with Admissions, Athletic Director, and Marketing and Communications to develop marketing and promotional pieces to be run in external and internal publications on campus and in the community promoting Immaculata Athletics.
  • Assist with creation of design elements, including print collateral, social media graphics and other design pieces for the department.
  • Staff special promotions events both on and off campus that assist with community outreach initiatives.
  • Coordinate on-campus activation methods to promote upcoming games and increase exposure of Immaculata Athletics.
  • Assist admissions and coaches with recruitment and retention.
  • Oversee athletic fundraising events.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in communications and marketing or related field
  • Prior experience with high school, AAU or collegiate coaching in basketball
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid & AED and recertify as needed on an annual basis.
  • Must possess driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must have the ability to develop positive relationships with athletes, co-workers, University faculty/administration
  • Must be able to perform athletic fundamentals (running, drills, etc.)
  • Must have computer skills and proficient Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience with social media strongly preferred
