JOB PURPOSE:

Serve as head coach, supervising assistant coaches and coaching team, fundraising, and recruiting student athletes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead all aspects of running a competitive volleyball program within the Jayhawk Conference
• Lead fundraising activities to generate revenue that can be used within the WBB program
• Recruit high caliber athletes that will represent the institution with integrity on the court, in the classroom, and community
• Work within parameters of budget and administration of budget
• Game preparation and competition preparation
• Coordinate the recruitment, management, and supervision of student athletes
• Promote active personal and team participation in activities within the community
• Work-study supervision
• Oversee classroom attendance and academic progress of team members
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.   Master’s Degree preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other coaches, faculty/staff, students, and general public
• Minimum of two years coaching experience at high school, community college, or college level
• Pro-active with personal characteristics of leadership, enthusiasm, and attention to detail
• Knowledge of community college philosophy, goals, and operations
• Have knowledge of and be able to implement procedures regarding Bloodborne Pathogens laws and regulations
• Valid driver’s license
