Madison College Athletic Department has an exciting opportunity for a motivating, engaging, and passionate candidate to apply for the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Eligibility, Compliance, and Game Management role in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. This is an opportunity to coach an NJCAA Division 2 women’s basketball program and recruit high-caliber women’s basketball student-athletes. Madison College is a comprehensive, open-access institution providing a high-quality education to a diverse population, including first-generation college students.
In addition to coaching responsibilities, the position will provide comprehensive compliance and eligibility support, serve as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor, and game management coordinator. The position will be responsible for compiling and verifying all department compliance needs such as academic eligibility, letters of intent, scholarship, tracers, and Title IX reporting. Additionally, the position will also schedule, supervise, and train all game management personnel and serve as the advisor to a group of student-athlete team captains.
This position will split responsibilities; 50% Coaching & 50% Non-Coaching responsibilities.

Essential Duties
• Plan, organize, and conduct all intercollegiate basketball practices and contests in compliance with college and NJCAA rules.
• Successfully recruit high-caliber women’s basketball student-athletes and document all recruiting activity. Represent the college at state, regional and national coaches’ meetings, and events.
• Supervise all team personnel including student-athletes, managers, assistant coaches, and related team personnel.
• Schedule all opponents for intercollegiate contests, purchase and maintain necessary supplies and equipment, and accumulate, document, and submit all required student-athlete documents required for NJCAA eligibility.
• Determine sport-specific fundraising strategies (ie. camps & clinics, on-line campaigns, etc.) and allocate scholarship monies to identified student-athletes.
• Compile and verify all department compliance needs such as student-athlete academic eligibility, letter of intents, scholarships, tracers, and Title IX reporting.
• Schedule, supervise, and train all game management personnel
• Serve as the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Skill in communicating effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
• Organizational, management, and interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate, communicate, and execute intercollegiate events. Decision making skills in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and athletic association eligibility and compliance rules and regulations.
• Ability to successfully recruit quality prospective student-athletes.
• Knowledge of the current NCAA and NJCAA rules and the ability to teach the most current women’s basketball skills, techniques, and strategies.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Sports Management, Administration, or any related field. Master’s Degree encouraged.
AND
• Four (4) years high school coaching and professional work experience directly related to the skills required for successfully performing this position.
OR
• Three (3) years intercollegiate coaching setting (preferred)
