Description:
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for a Head Women’s Basketball Coach. The individual will be responsible for the total operation of the women’s basketball program including, but not limited to: recruiting, managing the team, budget management, scheduling, fund raising, equipment control, game/practice management, development of a service learning/engagement project for student-athletes, academic monitoring, mentoring assistant coach, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate women’s basketball program or as assigned. Additional expectations of this position may include game administration duties, and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), previous intercollegiate women’s basketball coaching and recruiting experience (preferably at a D-III institution), and a valid driver’s license. Applicants should demonstrate success as an energetic recruiter and positive role model for women. Candidates must be able to develop and motivate Division III student-athletes; have a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, HCAC, and institutional rules and regulations; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and strong leadership skills.
