Arkansas Tech University is searching for the next leader of one of the most successful programs in women’s college basketball history due to current head coach announcing retirement prior to the start of this season.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for a tradition that includes two national championships, 26 regular season conference titles and more than 1,100 all-time wins. Arkansas Tech is home to one of the 10 winningest women’s basketball programs in NCAA Division II history. For 49 seasons, the Golden Suns have been champions in competition, in the classroom and in the community. The next chapter of
this storied tradition will be written by a head coach who embraces our history and is prepared to meet the challenge of maintaining Golden Suns basketball as a point of pride, in all respects, for Arkansas Tech. It will be necessary for the successful candidate to own a track record as an excellent
recruiter, articulate a detailed plan for coaching staff and roster construction, provide a clear philosophy for developing on-court success and possess a fiercely competitive drive to succeed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate assistant coaching staff.
Recruitment and development of student athletes.
Budget development and management.
Development of game and practice schedules.
Knowledge of the NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
A strong public service orientation to work well with faculty, staff, students, and the
community.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Responsible for the academic progress and success of student-athletes.
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the women’s basketball program within the
guidelines set forth by Arkansas Tech University, the Great American Conference, and
the NCAA.
Spearhead fundraising efforts to support programmatic needs and enhancements.
Plan and operate summer camps along with community and alumni relations/cultivation.
Respond to all administrative correspondence in the requested timeframe and attend all
staff meetings.

Follow all Arkansas Tech University policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S.
Basketball coaching experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Women’s Basketball Coaching Experience
Proven fundraising skills
Demonstrated success in the recruitment and development of student-athletes
Knowledge of the NCAA Division II rules and regulations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent Computer skills including banner, HUDL, Microsoft
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree
Head Coaching experience
Collegiate coaching experience
Experience recruiting the central region
History of winning championships or being involved in championship teams
