Description: | Allegheny College, a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications for a Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This position is a full-time, twelve-month appointment with a comprehensive benefits package. A Bachelor’s degree is required; however, a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates are responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of a highly successful and competitive varsity women’s basketball program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruit and retain qualified student-athletes, practice and game preparation, athlete development, coaching/teaching, budget management, travel coordination, and other areas of sport administration. Maintaining a working relationship with campus colleagues, alumni, community members, and other constituents is key. The ideal candidate will have previous college playing and head coaching experience with an understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private liberal arts institution. They must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (verbal and written) and have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team-oriented atmosphere. Commitment to the College’s Statement of Community and Academic Mission is required. The Director of Athletics and Recreation will also assign additional responsibilities.
