The Athletic Recruiter/Coach is responsible for oversight of the Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball programs at Oak Hills Christian College. This responsibility includes the planning, development, and managing of these two athletic programs. This position is also responsible for the recruitment of Christian student-athletes not only for these specific programs, but also for the general athletic department.

Purpose:

Oak Hills Christian College is an interdenominational Evangelical institution which believes that athletics provides a rich context for spiritual development and mentoring. The person filling this position is expected to be a spiritual leader of students and should be comfortable leading Christian prayer and devotional activities. Students recruited to participate in athletics must demonstrate a desire to grow in Christian faith and a willingness to abide by codes of conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook (online) and the Athletic Handbook (online).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coach women’s volleyball and basketball
• Develop students’ skills through instruction and practice
• Support the academic growth and success of student-athletes
• Provide all aspects of organization and management of specific teams in workouts, practices, and games
• Recruit quality Christian student-athletes to fill both the volleyball and basketball rosters
• Provide assistance to other athletic department coaches and staff when it comes to the recruitment of student-athletes
• Create and maintain student and program records, including, but not limited to, the student-athlete’s admissions file (from start to finish), databases of high school coaches and athletic directors, and databases of prospective student-athletes
• Maintain proactive channels with key influencers of prospective student-athletes
• Assist the Athletic Director in specified duties including but not limited to
• Recruiting and scouting
• Scheduling games and practices and coordinating travel
• Monitoring athlete academics
• Organizing and managing camps and clinics,
• Organizing and managing home competitions,
• Promoting the team and athletic department, and
• Planning and participating in Fundraising activity and events
• Recruit and supervise student workers associated with team activities
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Previous playing or coaching and recruiting experience required.
