This position requires an individual who is capable of applying knowledge and experiences relevant to coaching college-level women’s basketball with a minimum reliance upon “on-the job” growth. It also requires a person who understands the importance of academics, student engagement and completion, and the role of quality academic advising in student success.
The primary responsibilities of this position include recruitment, pre and post-season conditioning, team and travel supervision, and coaching the Women’s Basketball Team during both practices and games. The employee must be sufficiently flexible to be able to relate effectively with a wide variety of students and individuals in the collegiate environment.
This employee’s duties include academic advising in the ACE-IT Center. The focus of WWCC, the Athletic Department and the ACE-IT Center is on strong ethical and academic expectations, providing an educational environment that helps build leadership and life skills, and offers students and student-athletes a well-rounded college experience. The primary function of advisors is to help students develop guided pathways and to focus on completing degrees and certificates in the expected time frame.
This employee may teach courses that are part of the WWCC curriculum and will participate in appropriate departmental activities.
The College expects this individual to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, this individual must support the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with college personnel and the public. This individual will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.
