The head coach is responsible for directing all aspects of the university’s intercollegiate women’s basketball program. The successful candidate must be committed to recruiting student athletes capable of meeting the rigors of a demanding liberal arts curriculum and competing at the highest levels of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The head coach must embrace and be willing to model the core values of USAO and the NAIA, including sportsmanship, citizenship, and academic and personal integrity. A commitment to gender equity within intercollegiate athletics is also required. The head coach must also provide leadership in promoting the women’s basketball program to all of the university’s constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans and booster groups. This 12-month position. A teaching component may be possible if the candidate has a master’s degree and meets the academic program requirements and the need arises. Possible academic assignments include courses in health and physical education.
