Duties Begin: August 1st, or as soon thereafter The University of Maine Presque Isle is seeking candidates for Head Women’s Basketball Coach that will include other responsibilities within the department. The position will report to the Athletic Director. The University of Maine Presque Isle is a member of and competes at the NCAA Division III level as well as in the USCAA. The university currently supports twelve sports, comprising six men’s and six women’s teams. Coaching Responsibilities: The successful candidate will support the successful development of student athletes both in the classroom and on the court by providing leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student athletes. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the women’s basketball program to include coaching, recruiting student athletes, practice and game organization, building a schedule, and arranging team travel. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel and work non-traditional hours. Secondary Responsibilities may include: Sports Information Director: Work with local, regional, national and athletic association personnel, work closely with campus, committees, associations to promote athletic programs. Maintain a comprehensive website; maintain statistics and records for all varsity sports w/archives; write press releases, stories and player team profiles. Help produce/coordinate live streaming webcasts of home contests. Athletic Development Director: Works to advance the mission of University Athletics by planning, organizing and implementing strategies to increase the level of community involvement and financial commitment of alumni and friends; and carries out other athletic and development responsibility as assigned by the Director of Athletics and President.
