Sussex County Community College is looking for a Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the 2015-2016 basketball season. The Head Coach is responsible for preparing and training his/her respective team for strong competition throughout their season. The Head Coach will also be responsible for: 1. Recruiting student athletes. 2. Conducting meaningful practice sessions. 3. Coordinating game playing and scrimmage schedules. 4. Transporting student athletes to and from games and/or practices if needed. 5. Overseeing the care of equipment, inventory equipment and making recommendations on purchases of equipment. 6. Reporting game results and information to the local media. 7. Keeping regional and national websites current and up-to-date. 8. Assisting the athletic department in ensuring the academic proficiency of student athletes. 9. Becoming familiar with the NJCAA Eligibility rules, GSAC and Region rules and procedures as well. 10. Working within the administrative framework of SCCC Athletic Department for required paperwork, deadlines and knowledge of proper department outlined procedures. 11. Working with game officials and game day personnel to promote proper sportsmanship and game day conduct within coaching staff, student athletes and spectators. 12. Other duties as assigned.
