This is a part time with no benefits position. The Head Coach is expected to exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of the position consistent with the mission and integrity of the institution, conference, and NJCAA. The responsibilities of the head basketball coach will include, but are not limited to the following: Organizing, planning, coordinating, conducting and supervising all aspects of a NJCAA Division I basketball team and daily management of all phases of the program that includes but not limited to practice, game preparation and strategy; recruitment of student-athletes; assistant coach supervision; preparation and oversight of budget; promotional outreach and fundraising activities; working closely with Academic Support and Student Development units, responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the basketball program in the areas of academics, athletics and student athlete conduct, and the recruitment, growth and development and retention of quality student athletes; adherence to NJCAA, Southeastern Illinois College, and Conference rules and regulations and responsible for maintaining a culture of compliance as evidenced by actions of staff members in the program; overseeing and coordinating applicable camps and clinics; participating in community outreach and fund raising activities and any other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
